My fave shots of 2014
2014 was a weird year of photography, for me. I’ve been paid more than ever before, and never been without work. However, I think it’s gone too far in that direction. I didn’t really take my cameras out for fun all that much in 2014, and really, without the fun, what’s the point?
I got tons of new equipment (perks of actually being paid!) and I honestly haven’t used it as much as I could – outside of paid assignments. That’s why it’s one of my goals this year to take my camera out for fun more, and get some of that work/passion balance back.
Anyway. Here are some highlights:
This kid is so ridiculously photogenic, and on his way to a little modelling career after our shoot! This got to number one on Flickr, and got 38,000 views and counting. 50mm prime at f2.8 awesome depth of field and got the focus just right on the eye.
One of the few times last year that I took my camera out for fun! Went for a photo walk around Liverpool and met some lovely skater-type people. 8mm fisheye and f22, with remote flashes. Sensor dust sucks.
More fun things at Knowsley Safari Park bird show. I went a lot, last year. This is Nibbles. He’s a vulture, and he’s hella cute. The 70-200mm cropped in A LOT. Yey for full frame sensors.
What?! No BEWBS?! An impromptu shoot using the best of available light (read: SHADE – it was mid July or some shit) I think it turned out really well. Again, the 70-200mm.
Hopefully 2015 will be filled of ALLOFTHE fun photos. We shall see!
